Three people have been confirmed dead following a road accident in Limuru, Kiambu County.
The accident at the Manguo blackspot on Nairobi-Nakuru highway also left nine others injured.
While confirming the incident Police Commander Mary Gachie Huju said those injured are receiving medical attention in various facilities within Limuru.
She said the 14-seater matatu was headed to Nairobi before colliding with a lorry that was headed in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Nissan and his two passengers died on the spot. Their bodies have been taken to Uplands Homes mortuary, while the two vehicles involved towed to Tigoni Police Station.
The accident brings to 15 the number of people who have died in accident at the same spot in less than two weeks.
Last week a family of five perished at the same spot.
Residents of Limuru are now calling on the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) to install speed bumps in the area to curb the increasing number of accidents.
